The Fort Loramie Redskins were looking for a statement win over Botkins, the No. 8 ranked team in the Division IV poll, and they got it. The Redskins held off the Trojans 49-40 to drop Botkins from first place in the SCAL.

The game was played in Fort Loramie, but McKane Finkenbine was launching -- and making -- shots from Anna. Behind Finkenbine's seven 3-pointers and 34 points, the Rockets held off the Redskins for a 59-51 win in a matchup between two of the Shelby County League's best.

Fort Loramie hosted past coaches, players and support staff to celebrate the 50th season of the girls basketball program. Decades later little has changed. Fort Loramie won again Saturday with a hard-earned victory over Ottawa-Glandorf, a team with a proud tradition of its own.

It was vintage Shelby County League - vintage Jackson Center.  But Botkins' Jayden Priddy-Powell's driving layup at the end proved the difference as Botkins held on for a 29-26 win to take both games of the season series from the Tigers. Read about it in today's Press Pros.
