In a first, a pair of coaches claim Press Pros honors for our 2022 Coach of The Year distinction in area football - New Bremen's Chris Schmidt, and Marion Local's Tim Goodwin (above). Read more in today's Press Pros inside feature.

In windy conditions, dropping temperatures, and facing a near mirror-image of itself, Marion Local parlayed just one offensive touchdown, 142 total yards, and a vital 'pick six' into a 14-6 win over Kirtland, and their 13th state title, overall.

With no margin for error offensively, New Bremen recovered from a 14-0 deficit to score every single time it touched the ball thereafter until a game-ending kneel-down clinched its advance to a second Division VII state championship game in three seasons.

Kyle Otte scored four touchdowns in the first half to power Marion Local's offense and the Flyers' defense flashed its customary dominance in a 55-0 rout of Allen East in the Division VI, Region 24 championship. (PressPros Feature Photos by Lee Woolery).
