Recovering Dayton ‘Rebounds’ For Hard-Earned Win Over Davidson….

The Dayton Flyers played at times Sunday like a team recovering from the flu.  Part of it was the flu, and part of it was the fight in the Davidson Wildcats.  But the Flyers got it done, thanks to four players in double figures (including DeShayne Montgomery, above)...and a whopping rebounding advantage.

McCoy: Derkack’s Free Throws End UD’s Skid

The University of Dayton Flyers ended their four-game losing streak Tuesday night in UD Arena, 72-70, over St. Bonaventure, when Jordan Derkack bottomed out two free throws with :02.7 seconds left, then held its breath when a Bonnies three-point fling caromed off the rim as the buzzer sounded.

Former University of Dayton coach Archie Miller now coaches Rhode Island and he brought the Rams to UD Arena Tuesday night and stunned the Flyers in overtime, 81-76, UD's third straight loss in Atlantic 10 Conference play after a 5-and-0 start.

The University of Dayton Flyers fell behind, 33-8, in the first half Wednesday night in Philadelphia at LaSalle, but chipped away and closed the gap to one point late in the game, but Javon Bennett's last-second three-point attempt to tie the game clanked off the rim and the Flyers suffered a stunning defeat, 67-64.
