A chance meeting in the airport with a Buckeye fan sparked consideraton of which Ohio State team, baseball or basketball, will be first to achieve national success.

As stern a test as they could get at this point in the Big Ten schedule, the Buckeyes and Landon Beidelschies (above) go on the road to Nebraska to take on the 20-6 Huskers.

It's hard to win when you only get three hits and your freshman pitchers battle the batting order and the strike zone.  Both gave rise to the Buckeyes dropping the series finale to Purdue.

Hero's welcome....Left fielder Trey Lipsey is engulfed at home plate following his walk-off, three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to beat Purdue. The Buckeyes secured the series with a 12-10 win and seek the sweep on Sunday.

Nick's big night....OSU's Nick Giamarusti is taking his gloves off before he even reached home following his fifth inning home run Friday against Purdue. Giamarusti finished with four hits in five at bats, eight total bases, and a pair of RBIs in an 8-2 win. Read more in Saturday's Press Pros.
