One of the area's best of the up-and-coming in amateur baseball, Troy's Brady O'Leary is spending his summer in a car and an on unfamiliar infields to sharpen his skills and make a favorable impression on those at a higher level. Our summer focus on area amateur baseball continues.

Mason defeats Troy at this stage of the tournament for the second straight year. And the Trojans, who surpassed expectations by making it this far, will long remember that it was Jake Hanley who they couldn't hit and who swung a powerful bat. Caleb Akins (pictured) battled through his pet peeve of five walks and struck out seven against Mason's powerful lineup.

In another example of culture versus the lack of priority, Tipp cruised to its 14th win of the season over Stebbins, standing now 8-4 in MVL Miami Division. Read about it in Tuesday's Press Pros.

After a sloppy start, Piqua and Mickey Anderson (above) hammered the baseball, scored four runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, and put Greenville away with eight more in the sixth to stay unbeaten in MVL play. Read more.
