Point guard Cole McClurg (above) and the Wildcats are in northern Ohio playing good competition with the expectation that their experience at Midwest Live will help them be ready when practice starts in November.

The expanded tournament proved to the knowledgeable that better baseball is more predictable when it comes from fundamentals and a culture of teaching them in the the old-fashioned way.  Minster and Mike Wiss proved (again) that hardly anyone does it better.

The OHSAA expanded the state high school baseball championships from four division to seven and Minster won the first Division VII title Saturday in Canal Park with an 8-0 destruction of Newark Catholic, a fourth state championship for Minster and veteran coach Mike Wiss. Coldwater's season, and quest for an eighth title, came to an end at the hand of a hot pitcher and a pivotal fifth inning in the Division V state semi-final.
