The recent OHSAA announcement about 12 teams per region for the playoffs has apparently inspired no one who's concerned with the future of more competitive football.  "And Marion Local is still in Division VII,"  laments one.

A photo of baseball, when baseball was real....Coastal Carolina coach Kevin Schnall got the heave early in the College World Series finale for arguing balls and strikes, and in another example of institutional management...the NCAA looked the worse for it.

It doesn't cost $250 for a family of five to attend, and it doesn't cost $1,500 for a twelve-year-0ld to play.  What wrapped up this weekend in Versailles was baseball for the sake of fun (New Bremen's Landon Overman, above), and family...and no one worried about spin rate! Read.....

Hero's welcome...Versailles' Jack Steinbrunner is mobbed by his teammates following his walk-off home run on Saturday. And in a pair of 11u and 12u games, dramatic home runs highlighted the action in Day 2 of the Stammen Classic tournament in Versailles, and proved that power can come from a small package (Steinburnner).
