To the fan who wrote yesterday asking for more coverage on the Reds, here's a sample with which everyone in Cincinnati has grown familiar. Casey Stengel (above) once famously said, "Can't anyone here play this game?" He could have said it about the Reds.

Silent Night...A hundred and sixty one years after the great Civil War to preserve the American union, the modern populous could not be more different than that of the 19th century...for their willingness then to put nation before themselves, and fight to the death to preserve what Lincoln promised, "a nation of the people, and for the people."

Sadly, the Piqua community lost a member that solved more problems while you got your watch fixed...than generations of politicians and public figures before him.  One of Piqua's most beloved, Joe Thoma, has died.
