A pair of local bowlers (Minster's Matt Kuba, above) stirred the crowd in Wednesday's early qualifying round, and a late push by veterans EJ Tackett and DJ Archer in the afternoon created a lot of attention - anticipation - for a wide-open chase for first place money come Thursday's championship match play.
The Professional Bowlers Association tour comes to Auglaize and Mercer counties for the next two weeks (Community Lanes' professional Michael Davidson, and proprietor Doug Davidson, above)...and may be as important as any two weeks on the sports calendar year for one of most overlooked class of amateur athletes in our midst.
