Tournament Wrap…Wiss, Minster Prove How ‘Less’ Is More

The expanded tournament proved to the knowledgeable that better baseball is more predictable when it comes from fundamentals and a culture of teaching them in the the old-fashioned way.  Minster and Mike Wiss proved (again) that hardly anyone does it better.

Birch, Tracy Combine For Pitching Gem As Olentangy Captures First State Title

After starting the season 8-6, Olentangy proved it was a team of destiny down the stretch, capping its incredible run with a 2-1 state championship win over high-powered Springboro. It was especially emotional for Columbus Clippers manager Andy Tracy, who was granted leave to watch his son's final game.

They held their breath on the final out (above)....but sophomore lefty Rocco Bucci won his third postseason game, Dominic Pirrone had the key hit and left fielder Cameron Birch made a home run-saving catch in the seventh inning to lift Olentangy into the big-school title game.
