Beidelschies, Buckeyes Blast Through Cal For Weekend-Opening Win

Starter Landon Beidelschies (above) carried a no-hitter in the fifth inning, they got enough offense, and lock-tight defense raised the Buckeyes past .500 with a Friday night win in the desert over Cal Berkeley.

McCoy: Loyola Outmuscles UD Flyers, 77-72

With second place in the Atlantic 10 conference on the line, two players from the Columbus area were major thorns in the sides of the University of Dayton Flyers, leading Loyola of Chicago to a 77-72 win in Chicago, dropping UD to third place in the A-10 at 12-4. JaVon Bennett (pictured) sat out the second half with a hand injury.

State #4 Troy Christian played textbook Eagle basketball, shooting and sprinting their way to a 68-52 win over Cedarville, and a sectional title.
