A house professional who bowls on tour about six times a year, Troy's Kyle Bigelow once again showed his ability to compete against anyone, anytime, Saturday in the opening qualifying round of the PBA Coldwater Classic.

World #1-ranked bowler EJ Tackett watches the final ball of his perfect 300 game Thursday, holding off a determined, strike-throwing field in the semi-finals and championship round to win the 3rd Annual Kremer Roofing Classic tournament at Community Lanes, in Minster. Read more.

A pair of local bowlers (Minster's Matt Kuba, above) stirred the crowd in Wednesday's early qualifying round, and a late push by veterans EJ Tackett and DJ Archer in the afternoon created a lot of attention - anticipation - for a wide-open chase for first place money come Thursday's championship match play.

The Professional Bowlers Association tour comes to Auglaize and Mercer counties for the next two weeks (Community Lanes' professional Michael Davidson, and proprietor Doug Davidson, above)...and may be as important as any two weeks on the sports calendar year for one of most overlooked class of amateur athletes in our midst.
