What High School Bowlers Want For Christmas….

You’ve only got four shopping days left, but if you’d like to know what to get your favorite high school bowler for Christmas…we asked.  And they let us know.

If you’re a parent of a high school bowler you must know…that every bowling ball on the market is better than the one they’re bowling with now.  There’s always a better mouse trap.

So we asked a few at New Bremen’s Speedway Lanes on Saturday…if they could have one bowling-related item for Christmas, what would it be.

And get ready…..!

Blake Henry (Versailles, 218 avg, and a high game of 275) …”I’d probably want a new bowling ball,” he answered quickly.  “My old one has died.  It doesn’t curve anymore.”

And he made no mention of a specific brand, or model.  When they don’t curve anymore, anything has to be better.

We also asked him about Saturday night’s OSU game with Tennessee:  “Oh, Ohio State, for sure.”

He sounded as sure as he knows…he’d like a new bowling ball.

Speedway Lanes, in New Bremen, is proud to support bowling on Press Pros Magazine.com.

Bryce Voress (New Bremen, 202 avg, and a high game of 247) … “Oh, I’d like a new ball…a Storm TNT,”  he said, making sure of brand and model.  “I like the color and the action of that ball, and I’ve been using the one I have for a year and a half.”

“As much as these kids bowl, the average ball begins to lose something after a year,”  says Coldwater bowling coach Rick Hartings, if you need a reliable source of confirmation.

And who did Bryce pick in the Ohio State-Tennessee game?

“Ohio State,”  he said.  “Always.”

Ryland Edwards (Minster, 187 avg and the team’s high game for the season, 267) … “I’d take the newest Hammer ball,”  he said without pause.  “I think it’s the Effects Solid model.”

And his pick for Ohio State vs. Tennessee:  “No question, Tennessee by three scores.”

Oh….!

And he sounded so sure about it.

Bowlerstore.com, of Versailles, is the presenting sponsor of high school bowling on Press Pros Magazine.com…and a great place to get a new bowling ball.

Brayden Heitbrink (St. Henry, 196 avg, and a high game of 238) … We cheated Brayden out of mention of his season-best 238 at Fort Recovery last week, but he was quick to join the others when asked about a bowling-related gift for the holidays.

“Probably a Trak Tundra Fire,” he said without thinking.  “And they’re not cheap.  I like the way it moves and I like my brother’s ball.  But I think he wants it back.”

No question he’d best that 238 if he had his own.

And, Ohio State vs. Tennessee?

“Oh, no doubt it’s Ohio State,”  he assured.  “They’re the better team.”

Gabe Acheson (Fort Recovery, 181 avg and a high game of 226) … Gabe paused when we asked him about which new bowling ball he’d like.

“Well, I already have three balls coming,”  he said.  “I probably don’t need another one.

“I’d probably like a new phone more.  Nothing special.  Maybe an IPhone 14.  It doesn’t need to be the best.”

And how about Ohio State-Tennessee?

“Well I hope it’s Ohio State,”  he answered.  “My friends are Notre Dame fans and they’ve been giving me crap.”

With three on the way, could there be any doubt…about what Gabe Acheson wants most for Christmas?

Community Lanes is so much more than a bowling center.  Schedule your next event with us.
