Her play, her hustle, and her joy to compete makes St. Henry senior volleyballer Rya Buschur this week’s choice for ‘Who’s Hot’ recognition.
You really don’t need stats, or numbers, to prove that St.Henry libero Rya Buschur turned in the most standout volleyball performance last week, but it doesn’t matter.
Seeing is believing.
Her presence, hustle, and leadership in the Redskins’ surprise three-game sweep of defending Division IV champion New Bremen was overwhelming visual evidence of her being worthy of this week’s ‘Who’s Hot’ recognition on Press Pros.
In her senior season Buschur has more than earned the respect of her coach and teammates for those very attributes. You can’t help but be aware of her contribution on the court – her hustle is inspiring – and she’s obviously a leader to which teammates look to with every point.
“She’s our leader,” says St. Henry coach Tricia Rosenbeck following the New Bremen win. “She’s just a go-getter. No ball’s going to hit the floor without her going for it. She brings our team together between every point…and yes, she had an unbelievable game tonight.”
“This was what we all wanted,” said the ‘Skins spark plug. “We left it all on the floor, and all it took was three sets. This was my best night [game].”
It’s sure that it won’t be her last. With four year’s experience she’s capable of the kind of consistency that makes champions. And that’s exactly what Rosenbeck, Buschur, and the Redskins are seeking this year in Division VI volleyball.
“We’re going to keep working, keep fighting, and keep getting better,” added Rosenbeck.
On behalf of our sponsor, the St. Henry Bank, we’re pleased to recognize Rya Buschur as this week’s Press Pros ‘Who’s Hot’ honoree.
