Press Pros Honors SCL Athletes Tonight In Sidney….

Our final 2019 tribute to area athletes is tonight…honoring Shelby County League athletes…at the Bridge Restaurant, in Sidney…the public is invited.

Here’s a reminder to parents, friends and fans of Shelby County League athletics. Tonight (June 20th) marks our fourth annual Press Pros Scholar-Athlete sponsor scholarship awards honoring an outstanding male and female athlete from the just completed 2018-19 school year.

This year’s male honoree is Anna High School’s Griffin Doseck, a 6′ 5″ post player who led the Rockets to their best season since their state tournament appearance a decade ago.  The Rockets reached the regional round of the OHSAA tournament, and Doseck would go on to earn All-Ohio honors in Division III.

This year’s female honoree is Russia High School’s Jenna Cordonnier, an outstanding participant in volleyball, softball, and basketball for the Raiders, and during the course of this past season established a new school record for career assists in volleyball, eclipsing the 2,000 mark.

A reception will be held at the Bridge Restaurant, in Sidney, beginning at 6 pm, and the public is invited.

The annual Scholar-Athlete scholarships are made possible by area businesses and individuals to support coverage of Shelby County League sports on Press Pros, and Thursday’s awards will mark $60,000 awarded by the site through our MAC, SCL, and Hal McCoy scholarships since 2012.

The Bridge Restaurant, in Sidney, proudly supports Shelby County sports on Press Pros Magazine.
